Built on a Promise Kept

The Story of Our Mission

In the summer of 2010, Aaron Fisher made a simple commitment: pack seven boxes of food each week for a local pastor who couldn't afford enough to eat. That commitment became Blessings of Hope — and a promise to God that as long as resources allowed, they would keep distributing food to families in need.

Fifteen years later, that promise has grown into a network of distribution centers serving over 1,660 partner ministries and providing the equivalent of 70,000 meals every single day.

But the Founders saw a ceiling. The mission couldn't scale without real estate — warehouses, cold storage, processing floors. Traditional bank financing wasn't the right fit. Donations alone couldn't build at the pace the vision required.

So in 2024, after months working with accountants, legal counsel, real estate professionals, and a business coach, the Founders established Hope RE Funding — a 501(c)(3) supporting organization of Light of Hope Ministries — specifically to raise the capital needed to build the infrastructure that Blessings of Hope's expansion requires.

Hope RE Funding is not a workaround. It is a purpose-built structure designed to allow fellow believers — and anyone who cares about solving food insecurity — to invest in a solution that is already working.

President

Born and raised in an Old Order Amish family in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, David Lapp left his generational farm in 2005 to follow God’s call into a new chapter of faith-driven entrepreneurship and community service. Over time, that journey grew from sharing surplus food out of a three-car garage into Blessings of Hope, a national food logistics ministry that now distributes tens of millions of pounds of food each year while pointing people to the hope found in Jesus Christ. David is a husband to Fannie, father to 12 children, and remains passionate about building community-led, faith-based systems that meet both physical and spiritual needs.

Our Values and Faith

As Christians, we love God and desire to obey His Word to us. These verses from the Bible especially guide our mission:

Mark 12:30–31

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

1 Timothy 6:17-19

"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

Colossians 3:23

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."
